must have books for pregnancy

During my pregnancy I have found the books below to be helpful to me. I hope that you find at least one of them helpful to you too!

The Mama Natural Week-by-Week Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth

This book is fabulously and thoughtfully put together. I love reading it every week to not only find out more about my baby, but also to learn about what I can do to support a healthy and natural pregnancy.

Feng Shui Mommy

My husband picked out this book for me and I am glad he did! This book is divided by trimester, and provides an uplifting and refreshing take on pregnancy and childbirth. Every time I put this book down I feel more relaxed than I did when I picked it up.

How Big is a Placenta Bowl

My midwife lent me this book in the beginning of my pregnancy. As a first time mom planning a home birth there were a lot of questions that I had and this book was a good starting place for answers. After all, when the list for home birth supplies says “placenta bowl” how big should that be?

Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth

This is another book that my midwife shared with me. Described as the “authentic mother of midwifery” Ina May shares a lot of advice for childbirth, as well birth stories. Reading this book really reassured my belief that childbirth is something women are divinely created to do. I highly recommend this book if you want to have a natural birth, and especially if you want to have a home birth.

Asking for a Pregnant Friend: 101 Answers to Questions Women Are Too Embarrassed to Ask about Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Motherhood

Pregnancy is a big question mark in our society, which can lead to lots of googling. I found that this book answered questions I had, as well as informed me about things I hadn’t thought of before.

We're Pregnant! The First Time Dad's Pregnancy Handbook

This book has a weekly breakdown of what is going on with the baby and the mama. I bought this book for my husband as I thought it would be nice for him to have something to read each week too. I am happy he has this because instead of me telling him what is going for the week, we are able to share with each other what our books say.

Mama Natural Pregnancy Affirmation Cards

Though not a book, these daily affirmation cards were a daily boost of positivity and calm. There are times in my pregnancy that I find myself stuck in my head, and these help pull me out. Overall these cards do a great job of boosting your confidence during pregnancy and promoting positivity.
